Barracudas To Swim With Big Fish In USL Pro

Antigua Barracuda is a recently formed professional soccer team established in St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda. The team was created in 2010 and plays in the American division of the USL Professional Division (USL Pro). The USL Professional Division is the third level soccer league of the United States Soccer Federation. The team was originally supposed to join the USL Pro in 2011, but ended up becoming founding members of the brand new division in 2010. In late 2010, it was announced that the club will join the USL first division.Didn-t catch that? This explains it. The club is currently experiencing its first season in the aforementioned first division.

Antigua Barracuda’s first game was against the Puerto Rico Islanders in April 2010. It plays its home games in the Stanford Cricket Ground (affectionately known as the “Sticky Wicket Stadium”) located in Saint George Parish in Antigua. Their home uniform is light blue with white stripes at the shoulders, and their away uniform is black with white stripes at the shoulders. Most of its players come from Antigua and Barbuda, although they also Jamaican players and a player from Saint Lucia, Guyana, the Dominican Republic and Saint Kitts and Nevis. They have a truly international team.
